           Located in the quiet, unassuming Tonawanda Creek Valley, the heritage of the Arcade & Attica Railroad has left its mark from the city of Attica, NY; 57 miles south to the city of Cuba, NY. Unlike roads such as the Strasburg, the A&A can't claim to have operated under the same name its entire life. However, being able to trace its history stretching back almost one hundred and seventy-five years, allows it to be a contender for one of America's earliest railroads.

           As one of the oldest and most colorful shortlines in the country, the A&A has a distinct heritage that can be traced back as early as 1836. The railroad's history is broken up based on the three biggest companies that operated trains over the road:
