With more then a century and a half of history, the Arcade & Attica and its predecessor roads have hosted a serious array of various equipment: steam, diesel & gas locomotives; freight & passenger cars; home-built equipment cars; Maintenance-of-Way equipment; the list goes on.
In many ways, the roster of a shortline is more interesting then a major road. Unlike Norfolk Southern or Union Pacific with their DASH-9's and SD-70-ACe's, a shortline doesn't keep solid records. Pictures and information about certain engines can become lost for years, perhaps even decades; sometimes even for all of time. That's part of the reason for this site... a repository of free knowledge so that other interested parties can learn just what makes up the heritage of the Arcade & Attica.
Equipment of the A. & A. |
The goal here is to provide as much information as possible about all the cars and locomotives that ever graced the rails (standard AND narrow gauge) between Attica & Cuba. | |
